Jeremy Joseph Stevenson (born July 28, 1974 in San Bernardino , California ) is a former Canadian - American ice hockey player who played 228 games for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and Nashville Predators , Minnesota, between 1990 and 2009 Wild and Dallas Stars played in the National Hockey League on the left winger position .

Career

Born in California , Stevenson spent his junior years in the Canadian province of Ontario , where he grew up in Elliot Lake . There he played from the beginning of the 1990/91 season over four years in the Ontario Hockey League for the Cornwall Royals , Newmarket Royals and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds . During this time, the left winger was selected in both the third round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft in 60th position by the Winnipeg Jets and in the eleventh round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft in 262nd position by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim , after Winnipeg failed to get him under contract within two years.

Stevenson spent his first professional station in the 1994/95 season with the Greensboro Monarchs in the East Coast Hockey League . The following season he finally made the leap into the American Hockey League . About the Baltimore Bandits , the then farm team of the Mighty Ducks, the attacker made his debut in the National Hockey League that same season . In the course of the following five years, he repeatedly commuted between the AHL and NHL squads. For the 2000/01 season , Stevenson moved as a free agent to the Nashville Predators . There, too, he did not make the permanent jump into the NHL. It was only when he switched to the Minnesota Wild in November 2002 that he played more regularly in the North American elite league and became more interesting for other teams. The striker returned to Nashville via the waiver in October 2003, where he became a regular for the rest of the season.

The lockout of the 2004/05 NHL season Stevenson spent in the ECHL with the South Carolina Stingrays before he went back on the ice for the Nashville Predators. Towards the end of the game year, he was drawn to the Dallas Stars via the Waiver . There he ended the season, but was no longer committed and could not find any more NHL employment. As a result, Stevenson played for the Amarillo Gorillas in the Central Hockey League and the Prolab de Thetford Mines in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey . At the beginning of 2007 he finally moved to Europe and went on the ice for the Rødovre Mighty Bulls in the Danish Oddset Ligaen . He spent the 2007/08 season in the Finnish SM-liiga at KalPa Kuopio . He completed his last professional games for the Kalamazoo Wings in the International Hockey League in the 2008/09 season .
