Jesús María Aristín Seco
Jesús María Aristín Seco CP (born December 25, 1954 in Santa Cecilia del Alcor , province of Palencia ) is a Spanish Roman Catholic religious and appointed Vicar Apostolic of Yurimaguas .
Life
Jesús María Aristín Seco joined the religious community of Passionists and attended the minor seminary in Euba . He then studied Catholic theology at the Universidad de Deusto in Bilbao . Aristín Seco put on 14 April 1979, the perpetual profession from and received on 23 September of the same year, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
After his ordination, Jesús María Aristín Seco worked as parish vicar in Bilbao. In 1981 Aristín Seco was sent to Rome for further studies , where he obtained a degree in Catholic theology in 1983 from the Pontifical Gregorian University . From 1984 he worked as a missionary in Tarapoto in the territorial prelature Moyobamba . In 1985, Jesús María Aristín Seco became parish vicar of El Triunfo de la Santísima Cruz parish in Tarapoto and on June 5, 1988 parish priest . From 1989 to 1992 he was pastor of the parish of San José de Sisa and episcopal vicar for the provinces of Lamas and San Martín . Aristín Seco then returned to Spain, where he graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia in Madrid with a degree in clinical psychology . From 2001 to 2006 Jesús María Aristín Seco was Consultor and General Procurator of the Spanish Religious Province of the Passionists and Mission Secretary . Aristín Seco became general secretary for missionary work at the Passionist Generalate in Rome in 2006 . In 2016 he was appointed Apostolic Administrator sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis of the Apostolic Vicariate of Yurimaguas.
On July 8, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Vicar Apostolic of Yurimaguas.
