Jesús María Cizaurre Berdonces OAR (born January 6, 1952 in Valtierra , Spain ) is a Spanish religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Bragança do Pará .

Life

Jesús María Cizaurre Berdonces joined the order of the Augustinian Recollects , made perpetual profession on September 10, 1972 and was ordained a priest on June 26, 1976 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him prelate of the Cametá Territorial Prelature on February 23, 2000 . The prelate of Marajó , José Luís Azcona Hermoso OAR, donated him episcopal ordination on May 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Jesús Moraza Ruiz de Azúa OAR, Prelate of Lábrea , and José Elias Chaves Júnior CM , Prelate Emeritus of Cametá. As a motto he chose Pax et fides .

With the elevation of the prelature Cametá to the diocese on February 6, 2013, Pope Benedict XVI. Jesús María Cizaurre Berdonces as its first bishop.

On August 17, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Bragança do Pará.
