Jesse Sanders (born June 5, 1989 in Sugar Land , Texas ) is an American basketball player . After studying in his home country, Sanders became a professional player in Europe, from where he moved to the Australian NBL for a season after a year in the then Italian second division Legadue . In 2014 he returned to Europe and after a year in Belgium has played in the German basketball league since 2015 . After a season for Walter Tigers Tübingen, Sanders played in the basketball Bundesliga 2016/17 for BG Göttingen.

Career

Sanders went to study at Liberty University in Lynchburg (Virginia) , where he was active from 2008 for the university team Flames in the Big South Conference of the NCAA . In Sanders' active time with the Flames it was only enough to participate in one postseason when the Flames reached the second round of the College Insider Tournament (CIT) in his freshman season 2009. Sanders was able to convince individually and in 2012 was the first player to achieve at least one triple-double in all four college seasons . In 2011, Sanders was named “Big South Player of the Year” at its conference. In his entire college career, Sanders has scored 1,235 points and is the third most betting player for the Flames and the player with the most assists . With his achievements, however, Sanders could not recommend himself for the highest endowed professional league NBA and was not included in the 2012 NBA draft .

In the summer of 2012, Sanders finally signed his first professional contract with the Italian second division club Fileni Aurora Basket from Jesi . In the Legadue in 2013, the team missed eleven place in the play-offs for promotion to the top division, where Sanders was able to score double-digit with a good ten points per game. Then Sanders moved to Australia and played for the Kings from Sydney in the National Basketball League , which also includes teams from New Zealand . After just one month, Sanders was released after the club had signed another compatriot. However, after another compatriot left the team at the end of the season, Sanders was brought back again in February 2014 and completed another six missions for the Kings, which, however, narrowly missed the qualification for the play-offs. For the following season, Sanders returned to Europe and played in Hasselt, Belgium for the newly founded Limburg United, which reached the fourth main round place at its premiere in the Basketball League Belgium . In the play-offs for the Belgian championship, however, the team failed in the first round at the former series champion Spirou BC Charleroi .

For the 2015/16 basketball Bundesliga , Sanders was signed by German first division club Walter Tigers from Tübingen . In addition to the experienced Bundesliga returnee Jared Jordan , Sanders then saw fewer minutes of action in his traditional position of point guard . The Tübingen could not improve on the 14th place in the final table compared to the previous season and clearly missed the play-offs for the championship. At the following Basketball League 2016/17 moved Sanders to the table neighbors from Göttingen .
