Jessica Kessler (born October 25, 1980 in Dinslaken ) is a German musical actress .

Life

education

Jessica Kessler started figure skating at the age of three , for the Duisburg SC Kaiserberg she started in the youth, junior and women's classes. As the youngest participant, she reached 16th place at the German championships in 1994 in Herne at the age of 13 . In figure skating, she is no longer active today, except for occasional shows.

Also at an early age she received lessons in classical ballet and later in jazz and tap dance . At the age of 15 she began her vocal training with Barbara Twarowska and later expanded her skills with the help of Christian Schotenröhr and Alexandru Ionitza , who also taught her. She also receives acting lessons from Barbara Wachendorf.

Career

Jessica Kessler gained her first stage experience as a soloist in the show Summer Night of the Musical in Dinslaken, and as the first cast of Belle in the ice revues Die Schöne und das Best and the tour production Disney on Ice .

Kessler played Yonah in Stephen Schwartz's musical Children of Eden . With the involvement in the German premiere of Mozart! she gained her first experience in an ensuite production . Here she was part of the ensemble as well as a second cast for Constanze Weber and Nannerl Mozart . On December 8, 2002 Titanic - Das Musical celebrated its German premiere in Hamburg , where Kessler was also part of the party. From November 13, 2008 to September 16, 2010 she played Scaramouche in We Will Rock You again as the first cast at the Apollo Theater in Stuttgart . Jessica Kessler played this role from October 2010 to October 2011 in Berlin at the Theater des Westens . From December 2012 to June 2013 she played the role as an understudy at the Musical Theater Basel and the Colosseum Theater Essen.

In March 2013, Jessica Kessler announced that she wanted to withdraw from the musical business and was planning a career as a pop and rock singer.

On October 19, 2014, she was on stage as Little Red Riding Hood and voice of Gingy at the German-language premiere of the musical Shrek - the musical in the Capitol Theater Düsseldorf. Directed by Andreas Gergen , the choreography was done by Kim Duddy . Kessler is also engaged as the cover of the female lead Fiona.

In January 2005, Kessler was voted musical voice of the year 2004 by the readers of the specialist magazine "Da Capo". In 2010 she reached the 2nd place "Best female lead in long run".
