Jin Min-sub (born September 2, 1992 ) is a South Korean pole vaulter .

Athletic career

Jin Min-sub gained his first international experience at the 2009 World Youth Championships in Bressanone , where he won the gold medal with 5.15 m. He then took part in the Indoor Asian Games in Hanoi , where he was eighth with a jump of 4.80 m and fourth at the East Asian Games in Hong Kong with 4.80 m. In the year he took part in the Junior World Championships in Moncton , Canada , where he was eliminated with 4.95 m in qualification. In 2011 he reached sixth place at the Asian Championships in Kobe with 5.20 m and was seventh at the Summer Universiade in Shenzhen with 5.35 m. In 2012 he did not reach a single height at the Asian Indoor Championships in Hangzhou . The following year he won the bronze medal at the Asian Championships in Pune with 5.20 m and qualified for the World Championships in Moscow , where he was eliminated with 5.25 m in qualification. He was then at the East Asian Games in Tianjin with 5.15 m fifth.

In September 2014 he took part in the Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea for the first time and won the bronze medal behind the Chinese Xue Changrui and Daichi Sawano from Japan with 5.45 m . In 2015 he took part in the Asian Championships in Wuhan and finished ninth with 5.20 m. He then reached fifth place at the Summer Universiade in Gwangju with 5.30 m and won the Military World Games in Mungyeon with 5.40 m. In 2018 he again took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta and finished sixth with 5.40 m. The following year he was at the Asian Championships in Doha with skipped 5.61 m fourth. He also took part in the World Championships there in October and was eliminated there with 5.45 m in qualification .

In 2010, from 2012 to 2015 and from 2017 to 2020 , Jin was the South Korean champion in outdoor pole vault and in 2015 also indoor.
