Joachim Hörster (2010)

Joachim Hörster (born March 26, 1945 in Lautzenbrücken ; † December 30, 2020 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1992 to 2000 he was Parliamentary Managing Director of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group .

Life and work

After graduating from high school , Hörster studied law and political science at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz , which he completed with the first state examination in law. After his legal clerkship , he also passed the second state examination and has since been admitted to the bar. He died at the end of December 2020 at the age of 75.

Joachim Hörster was married and has two children.

Political party

Hörster joined the CDU in 1965 and was chairman of the Oberwesterwald district association of the Junge Union from 1969 to 1973 . From 1993 to 2005 he was chairman of the CDU district association Koblenz - Montabaur .

MP

Hörster belonged to the district council of the Westerwaldkreis from 1974 to 1994 and to the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate from 1983 to 1987 .

Between 1987 and 2013 he was a member of the German Bundestag . From May 1992 to March 2000 he was Parliamentary Managing Director and from November 1994 to October 1998 First Parliamentary Managing Director of the CDU / CSU parliamentary group .

Joachim Hörster is in the 1998 federal elections on the party list or else always Rhineland-Palatinate and as directly selected delegates of the constituency Montabaur in the Bundestag drawn in. In the 2005 Bundestag election he achieved 46.6% of the first votes , and in the 2009 Bundestag election 43.2%. He did not run for the 2013 federal election .

Public offices

From 1972 to 1983 Hörster was mayor of the community of Westerburg . He was a member of the Foundation Advisory Board of the Europa-Haus Marienberg and since 2007 a member of the board of the DAFG - German-Arab Friendship Society e. V.
