Joachim von Bredow († May 22, 1507 ) was as Joachim I bishop of the diocese of Brandenburg and as this prince-bishop of the bishopric of Brandenburg . He ruled from 1485 until his death.

Joachim von Bredow comes from the old Brandenburg noble house von Bredow . He was born as the youngest son of Hasso II von Bredow , who was the “ governor of all brands”, and Hedwig, née von Alvensleben .

In 1461, Joachim was verifiable as a student at the University of Leipzig . In 1468, as a member of the diocesan curia, he was part of the court of the Brandenburg bishop Dietrich IV. ( Dietrich von Stechow ). Since July 30, 1483 he was Canon of Brandenburg.

After the death of Bishop Arnold von Burgsdorf , Joachim von Bredow was elected as his successor. On October 14, 1485, this election was confirmed by Pope Innocent VIII . The consecration and coronation took place on April 16, 1486 in the Brandenburg Cathedral .

Probably on May 22nd 1507, possibly also on May 29th, Joachim I died in office. He was buried in the Brandenburg Cathedral.
