Joanna Johnson (born December 31, 1961 in Phoenix , Arizona ) is an American actress and screenwriter .

life and career

Joanna Johnson's real ambition was to become a director. The second youngest of four children left Arizona and moved to the film metropolis Los Angeles to study directing and acting at the University of Southern California . After graduating, Johnson made some medical educational films until she was discovered by a casting director. She then received guest roles on the television series Mike Hammer , Trio with Four Fists and Twilight Zone . When William J. Bell was looking for the cast for the innocent young daughter of publishing magnate Bill Spencer, he was instantly impressed by Joanna Johnson. And so the Mimin was seen as Caroline Spencer from the first episode of Reich und Schön . It quickly became very popular with audiences and Caroline and Ridge Forrester ( Ronn Moss ) became the series' dream couple. After three years, however, Johnson decided to quit the soap opera, so that Caroline died of a tragic cancer death in episode 834. The actress first traveled around the world until she could be persuaded to come back to the rich and beautiful .

With the appearance of the mysterious Faith Roberts in episode 1182, who was actually Caroline's missing twin sister Karen, Johnson returned to the ensemble of Reich und Schön in December 1991 . Again she stayed loyal to the television series for three years, but now she wanted to withdraw behind the camera. So after her renewed exit in June 1994 she tried to gain a foothold as a screenwriter. In 2001, the film The Shrink is in , which she wrote, came out - madness on two legs! with Courteney Cox and David Arquette in the leading roles, which flopped despite good reviews . From autumn 2003 to May 2006 the sitcom Hope and Faith , created by Johnson, ran quite successfully on the American broadcaster ABC . For the comedy series she now acted as executive producer and wrote the scripts for a total of seven episodes. Since 2009 she can be seen again at irregular intervals in Reich und Schön . Since that year she has also increasingly written scripts for other television series, including Make It or Break It (2009-2011) and The Fosters (since 2013).

In her spare time, Johnson does a lot of sports, especially jogging and cycling.
