Career

After finishing school in West Springfield (Massachusetts) , Ragland began studying at Community College in North Platte ( Nebraska ), where he played for the Knights high school team in the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association (NJCAA) from 2008 to 2010 . After he was counted as one of the best JuCo players in the country as NJCAA All-American in 2010 , he got a place at Wichita State University , where he worked for the school team Shockers in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) of the NCAA from 2010 to 2012 played. At first they missed the national NCAA finals tournament , but in the second major postseason tournament of the NCAA, the Shockers won the title in the National Invitation Tournament for the first time in 2011 . A year later they reached the national NCAA finals over the best season record of all teams in the MVC, in which, however, they were somewhat surprisingly defeated and eliminated in the first game against the Rams of Virginia Commonwealth University . After a total of four seasons, Ragland's college career in basketball ended and he started a career as a professional player.

After Ragland was not selected by any club in the NBA's highest endowed professional league in the 2012 NBA draft, he signed his first professional contract with UCAM from Murcia in the Spanish ACB league . The previous year's climber achieved relegation again in the 2012/13 season and was able to improve slightly to 13th place in the final table with 13 wins this season. After Murcia missed the play-offs for the title, Ragland moved to the top Italian league Lega Basket Serie A at the end of April 2013 to the traditional club from Cantù , with whom he won the main round second Banco in the play-offs for the championship title in the first round di Sardegna Sassari was able to defeat in seven games. In the semi-final series, however, they lost again in seven games against the eventual runner-up Acea Rome . In the following season, Ragland and Cantù also took part in the European club competition Eurocup 2013/14 , in which the team was eliminated very tightly and under dramatic circumstances with one point difference in the last group game of the intermediate round in a direct comparison against the German representative ratiopharm Ulm . In the Italian championship they were eliminated as third in the main round against Acea Rome in the play-offs, this time in the first round without a single win. Ragland, who was one of the most accurate distance shooters from behind the three-point line with a 48% throw rate in Italy, was signed for the following season by the new champion Olimpia Armani Milan, with whom he will also compete in the highest-ranking European club competition ULEB Euroleague 2014/15 .
