Johann Friedrich Ludwig von Wopersnow (* 1717 ; † 1771 ) was a Prussian major .

Life

family

Johann Friedrich Ludwig came from the Pomeranian noble family von Wopersnow . His parents were the Prussian captain and heir on Standemin , Joachim Friedrich von Wopersnow and Margarete Catharina, born. by Wopersnow adH Kamissow .

He married Catharina Charlotta von der Mülbe in 1748 . The marriage resulted in two daughters and three sons, of whom, however, probably only the son Ernst Friedrich, Prussian lieutenant († 1773) and the daughter Wilhelmine, who married one von Lettow , survived the father.

career

Wopersnow was in Pomerania born and began his military career as a squire in the Infantry Regiment (no. 11) , where he on 26 March in 1740 second lieutenant , and on July 13, 1750. First Lieutenant was promoted. He also rose to staff captain in 1757 and on April 10, 1758 to captain and company commander . In 1762 he was released from Austrian captivity and immediately took part in the siege of Schweidnitz . On September 22, 1767, he was finally promoted to major.

As the successor to Eberhard Friedrich Wilhelm Baron von Graevenitz , who was taken care of as lieutenant colonel and district administrator of the Seehesten district , Wopersnow was in 1771 commander of the infantry regiment (No. 11) for a few months . After Wopersnow, Gottlieb von Ruskowski advanced to the position of regimental commander.

On October 9, 1771, he was able to get a share of the Standemin family estate and was one of the last owners of his family. Nevertheless, he was one of the last male members of the von Wopersnow that only a few years after his death in the male line went out.
