Johann Heinrich von Drost

Johann Heinrich von Drost or Johann Dietrich Drost and Johann Droste (* 1731 at the Sängerhof in Dinker near Soest ; † 1791 ) was a Prussian major and chief of III. Standing Grenadier Battalion .

Life

Origin and family

Johann was a member of the Brandenburg line of the Munsterland noble family Droste zu Hülshoff on the estate Hofe (which went bankrupt in 1698), Sengerhof, Klotinghoff and Ebinghoff. His father was Gottfried von Drost († 1736).

His presumed relative Alhard V. Droste zu Hülshoff, owner since 1686, was enfeoffed with Gut Sengerhof in 1713, then allegedly himself. The enfeoffment ended in 1736 and the officer Hans Heinrich von Zastrow , owner since 1729, was given by King Friedrich Wilhelm I. von Prussia enfeoffed Sengerhof House, who built the still existing manor house .

He was married to Clara Elisabeth von Ramspath. No children from this marriage are known.

Career

Drost took effect on September 13, 1749 as a cadet in the Füsilierregiment no. 44 (Gaudi) and denied henceforth an officer's career in the Prussian army . On November 8, 1751, he was promoted to ensign , on October 9, 1756, to seconde - and on April 13, 1760, to prime lieutenant . He took part in the Seven Years' War . His promotion to Staff Captain took place on 10 June 1766 which the real captain in 1768. After 1782 the Major (according to another source to lieutenant colonel had risen), it was on 4 June 1784 as successor Johann Wilhelm Leopold of Borckes the last commander of grenadier battalion no. 3.
