Johannes Kunze (politician)

Johann Kunze (born June 6, 1892 in Barmen , † October 11, 1959 in Bonn ; also Johannes Kunze) was a German CDU politician .

Life and work

After attending grammar school and doing a commercial traineeship, Kunze, who was of Protestant faith, attended the Cologne Commercial College , which he graduated with a degree in business administration. He gained his first professional experience at Demag in Duisburg . He was a soldier in the First World War . He then studied commercial teaching in Tübingen and Cologne and then worked as a certified commercial teacher at the higher commercial school in Essen . He was also a lecturer at the administrative school in the Essen district . In 1925 he became administrative director of the Sarepta institutions (belonging to Von Bodelschwinghsche Stiftungen Bethel ) and treasurer of the Inner Mission .

After the Second World War , Kunze was a member of the district council in the Bielefeld district and led the CDU parliamentary group there.

In 1946 he was a member of the Provincial Council for Westphalia and in 1946 and 1947 a member of the appointed Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia . Kunze was a member of the German Bundestag from its first election in 1949 until his death. In 1949 he entered parliament via the CDU's state list in North Rhine-Westphalia, and in 1953 and 1957 he won the direct mandate in the Iserlohn city and state constituency .

From 1949 until his death he was chairman of the Bundestag committee for burden sharing. From 1953 to 1957 he was deputy. Chairman of the CDU parliamentary group.
