John Blake (makeup artist)

John Blake is a makeup artist and special effects artist .

Life

Blake began his career on the film staff in 1985 as an assistant to makeup artist Mark Shostrom in the horror film Nightmare II by director Jack Sholder . At the beginning of the 1990s he received engagements in major feature film productions. 1993 Blake was for Danny DeVito's biopic Hoffa along with Ve Neill and Greg Cannom for the Oscar in the category Best Makeup and Best hairstyles nominated, but the award went this year to Francis Ford Coppola's vampire movieBram Stoker's Dracula . Blake has worked under such renowned directors as Steven Spielberg , Joel and Ethan Coen , Francis Ford Coppola, Gore Verbinski and Oliver Stone . Since 2008 he has been the makeup of Robert Downey junior in films such as Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3 as well as Marvel's The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron .
