Jonas Brothers is the second studio album by the band of the same name, Jonas Brothers . It was released on August 7, 2007 on Hollywood Records and reached number five on the American Billboard charts. The so-called Bonus Jonas Edition of the album was released in the USA on October 30, 2007 , and the standard version was released in Europe on June 13, 2008.
Background and useful information
The album came out almost exactly a year after the band 's debut album, It's About Time . In February 2007, the brothers had just signed their record deal with Hollywood Records , it was their first album release under the new label. The song Year 3000 was the only one for which the label got the distribution rights from the group's former record company, Columbia Records . A special feature is the album's CDVU + technology, which is similar to an enhanced CD . The technology developed by The Walt Disney Company allows computer-readable files to be stored on the CD.
Publication and promotion
The group's second studio album was released on August 7, 2007, the so-called Bonus Jonas Edition was available from October 30. While the bonus edition did not appear in Europe, the standard version was only released there ten months later and thus only about two months before the third album was released in the USA. From June to October 2007 the brothers went on the Marvelous Party Tour and then on the When You Look Me in the Eyes Tour , where they sang some of the songs from the follow-up album.

Singles
Year 3000
Year 3000 was the album's first single and was released on March 12, 2007. The song peaked at number 31 in the US. Overall, the song, which was the group's first release under the Hollywood Records label , but had also been used for the brothers' debut album, stayed in the charts for seven weeks. The title is a cover version of the song of the same name by the British band Busted , which reached number two in England with the song. A music video was also made for the song.
Hold on
The second single from the album was the song Hold On , which was released on May 22, 2007. It wasn't quite as successful as the first release in Year 3000 and only reached number 53 on the Billboard charts. In Germany, the title, just like the previous song, did not enter the charts. The song was used in the Disney film Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board , and the band made a music video to promote the film.
SOS
The third single on the album was also the most successful: SOS reached number 17 in the USA and was also able to place itself in the charts in large parts of Europe for the first time. In Germany the song rose to number 26, in Great Britain even to number 13. A music video was also made for the title, which was released on August 3, 2007.
When you look me in the eyes
The fourth and final release of the album was the title When You Look Me in the Eyes . It was released on January 25, 2008. The song peaked at number 25 in the US and also entered the charts in the UK. The music video was also shown for the first time on January 25th. The subsequent tour to promote the album, the When You Look Me in the Eyes Tour , was named after the song.

reception
The album got average reviews. For example, Tim Nelson wrote on the BBC's website that some songs were embarrassing and annoying and that the entire album was only bearable for about a song . In Contact.music.com it was discovered that the album for six to 13-year-old girl was likely that nothing better could do to languish as three boys who embodied exactly what Disney wanted from them. In addition, the group is just a typical boy band that redefines the word kitschy . Ultimately, the author of the article rated the album three out of ten stars. In Common Sense you wrote that the album good, perfect pop-punk music is three nice guys and ordered the CD into the category Eight years one.
