Josef Feiten
Josef Feiten (born December 14, 1888 in Hetzerath (Eifel) , † May 11, 1957 in Trier ) was a German educator and writer .
Life
Josef Feiten was the son of an elementary school teacher . He studied German , history and Romance languages at the universities in Munich , Lyon , Strasbourg and Bonn . After he had passed the state examination in 1915 , he took part in the First World War as a soldier . From 1919 he worked as a high school teacher in Bernkastel-Kues ; in the same year he married Susanne Tressel, the sister of the writer Ernst Thrasolt . From 1922 Feiten worked as a teacher in Essen ; In 1926 he earned his doctorate in philosophy at the University of Bonn with a thesis on the philosopher Hermann Lotze . From 1943 Feiten was a lecturer at the teacher training institute in Trier ; After 1945 he worked as a school councilor and senior government councilor in building up the new elementary school system in Rhineland-Palatinate .
Josef Feiten's literary work, which is shaped by both Catholicism and the author's deep ties to his homeland , includes stories , poems and plays . Feiten also wrote in part in the Moselle Franconian dialect .
In the German Democratic Republic , his work Ein Spiel vom Deutschen Helden (Höfling, Munich 1934) was placed on the list of literature to be sorted out.
