Joshua O'Neal Jackson (born February 10, 1997 in San Diego , California ) is an American basketball player . He played as a small forward at the University of Kansas during his college career . He is currently under contract with the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA .

college

Josh Jackson played a year in the NCAA for the University of Kansas on the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team . During his freshman season, Jackson averaged 16.3 points, 5.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds .

NBA

Jackson signed up for the NBA Draft and was considered a candidate for one of the top five places in many mock drafts . In the 2017 NBA draft , Jackson was ultimately selected fourth by the Phoenix Suns . After initial adjustment problems, Jackson increased in the course of his first NBA game year and came in 77 missions to averages of 13.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per encounter. He was following the season 2017/18 to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team selected.

In his sophomore year in the NBA ( 2018/19 ) Jackson failed to improve. With the same playing time, his points per game decreased from 13.1 to 11.5 and his rebounds per game from 4.6 to 4.4. Then Jackson was transferred to the Memphis Grizzlies after the end of the season .
