Juan José Haedo (born January 26, 1981 in Chascomus , Buenos Aires ) is a former Argentinian cyclist . In his career he won stages in the Vuelta a España , Tirreno-Adriatico and the Tour of California .
Juan José Haedo began his career in 2003 with the US racing team Colavita Oil-Sutter Home . From 2006 he drove for the Continental Team Toyota-United Pro and celebrated his first major successes; primarily he drove races in North America. At the Tour of California he won two stages and was narrowly beaten second behind Olaf Pollack in the points classification . At the Tour de Georgia he was successful on the last stage and finished the points classification in third place.
In 2007 Haedo switched to the ProTour for Team CSC and celebrated his first victory on European soil with the victory at Rund um Köln , which he was able to repeat in 2011. In May 2007 he had another victory at Colliers Classic in Denmark and started at the Giro d'Italia , where he gave up. In 2008 he competed in the Olympic Games in Beijing in the road race , but could not finish it. In 2011 he won a stage at the Vuelta a España .
From 1998 to 2000 Juan José Haedo was also active on the track . He was multiple Argentine champion in the junior and senior division and won a total of four gold and one bronze medal at the Pan American Games .
Juan José Haedo is a brother of the cyclist Lucas Sebastián Haedo and son of the two-time Olympian Juan Carlos Haedo .
