Jules-Joseph Puset

Jules-Joseph Puset SMM (born August 11, 1911 in Angers , France , † April 15, 1983 ) was a French clergyman and from 1957 to 1972 Roman Catholic Bishop of Tamatave in Madagascar .

Life

He was ordained a priest on March 7, 1936; on November 14, 1957 he was appointed Bishop of Tamatave. His predecessor Bishop Alain-Sébastien Le Breton SMM consecrated him on January 26, 1958 as bishop. With consecrators were the bishops Claude Rolland MS from Antsirabé and Eugéne Gabriel David CSSp from Majunga . Puset was a participant in the four sessions of the Second Vatican Council . With age, he was on 25 March 1972 emeritus and died on April 15, 1983. During his tenure, he was Mitkonsekrator the archbishops Gilbert Ramanantoanina SJ and Albert Joseph Tsiahoana and the bishops Robert Lucien Chapuis MEP and Jérôme Razafindrazaka , his successor in office.
