Jules Bijl

Jilles "Jules" Gerrit Bijl (born January 10, 1958 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch politician of the Democrats 66 party and a diplomat . He has been the Dutch ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago since August 2015 .

Jules Bijl attended the Groen van Prinsterlyceum in Vlaardingen , Zuid-Holland . He studied administrative law at the Erasmus University Rotterdam . After graduating in 1983, he worked for the administration of the province of South Holland as head of the occupational safety department . From 1991 to 1992 he was acting head of the magistrate of the South Dutch municipality of Boskoop , from 1992 to 1996 head of the magistrate of the municipality of Stadskanaal .

From 1996 to 1999 he was head of cabinet of Jaime Saleh , the governor of the Netherlands Antilles . When Jules Bijl returned to the Netherlands, he was mayor of Eemnes from 1999 to 2004 , and from 2002 to 2003 he was also acting mayor of Montfoort . From 2004 to 2009 he was CEO of the Kruiswerk West Veluve utility company in Ede , and from 2009 to 2009 he was a consultant at the health care consultancy Van Naem & Partners. From 2010 to 2015 he was head of cabinet of the respective governor of Curaçao .

On March 6, 2015 he was appointed ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, and has been the Dutch ambassador to Port of Spain since August 2015 . He is co-accredited for Antigua and Barbuda , Barbados , Dominica (since October 23, 2015), Grenada , St. Kitts and Nevis (since February 11, 2016), St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines (since February 8 , 2016) March 2016).
