Julius Friedrich von Keffenbrink

Julius Friedrich von Keffenbrink , also Keffenbrinck , (born April 17, 1714 in Plestlin , † September 26, 1775 in Stettin ) was a German lawyer, numismatist and Prussian government official from Pomerania .

Life

Julius Friedrich von Keffenbrink was a son of Johann Axel von Keffenbrink (1667–1729), imperial captain, and Anna Sophie von Opfern († 1718). He was tutored by private tutors from the age of seven. After the death of his father, he went to Halle (Saale) with his two older brothers and from 1729 attended the pedagogy in Glaucha with the younger of the two . In 1732 he began studying law and history at the University of Halle , which he temporarily interrupted to visit the University of Jena . In 1737 he went to Köstritz as a partner and tutor of Count Heinrich (XXIII) from the younger line of the Reuss Princely House . In 1744 he became a member of the Reuss state government and the consistory of Greiz .

In 1749 he went to Schivelbein in the Neumark , where he became director of the Landvogteigergericht in Prussian service . In the same year he became a councilor in Küstrin . In 1753 he became director of the regional government in Brieg . In 1764 he became the first President of the Kurmärkische Consistory and second President of the Upper Consistory in Berlin . In the same year he got Anton Friedrich Büsching's appointment as director of the Gymnasium zum Grauen Kloster .

In 1766 he became president of the Pomeranian government and the other judicial colleges in Stettin. He was also the curator of the royal academic high school . In various writings he dealt with topics of coinage and the history of Pomerania.
