Julius von Lübenow

Theodor Ferdinand Julius von Lübenow (born March 25, 1799 in Stallupönen , † May 29, 1876 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

Julius was the son of the Prussian captain Friedrich von Lübenow (1770-1813) and his wife Karoline Juliane, née Entier (1777-1839). His father was last in the 1st West Prussian Infantry Regiment and died in Prague from the wounds he had suffered at the beginning of the wars of liberation .

Military career

Lübow visited the Berlin Cadet House and on May 6, 1816 was transferred to the 27th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a portepeefähnrich . In mid-December 1817 he was promoted to secondary lieutenant and from May 1818 to March 1822 he was in command of the topographic office in Berlin . In 1823 Lübenow became adjutant of the 2nd Battalion before he was commanded as deputy adjutant to the 7th Division in early September . This was followed by a command as adjutant of the 13th Landwehr Brigade in Münster for two years . By September 1839 Lübenow rose to captain and company commander . With a patent dated December 13, 1831, he was transferred to the 32nd Infantry Regiment on April 7, 1841 . On November 2, 1844, Lübenow was promoted to major and transferred to the 27th Landwehr Regiment as commander of the 1st Battalion. On August 24, 1849, he joined the 31st Infantry Regiment and was promoted to lieutenant colonel at the end of March 1852 . On March 17, 1853 he was appointed commander of the 14th Infantry Regiment in Thorn . In this position Lübenow was promoted to colonel on March 22, 1853 and on September 3, 1856 with the Red Eagle Order III. Excellent with a bow. At his request, he was on 19 September 1857 as a major general with board for disposition made.

For the duration of the mobilization on the occasion of the German war in 1866 and the war against France in 1870/71, Lübenow was reused and acted as commander of the 15th Infantry Brigade in Erfurt. He died on May 29, 1876 in Freiburg im Breisgau.
