Here Koller attended the German elementary school and then the Hungarian grammar school based in Kastl. After graduating from high school, he studied philosophy , theology and Portuguese in Munich , Vienna and São Paulo . During this time he gained his first experiences with journalism and filmmaking ( Antoniusfeuer , 1993).

In addition to his professional activity, the passionate speleologist explores previously unknown karst caves in the Dead Mountains in cooperation with the regional association for caving in Upper Austria .
