The Köhlerberg is a 424.7  m above sea level. NHN high elevation in the German low mountain range Taunus . It is located between Griedelbach and Oberwetz in the Hessian Lahn-Dill district .

Geographical location

The Köhlerberg rises in the eastern Hintertaunus and in the Taunus Nature Park . Its summit is 2.2 km north of the Waldsolms district of Griedelbach, 1.3 km south-southeast of Oberwetz and 3 km east of Oberquembach , two districts of Schöffengrund ; all three districts belong to the Lahn-Dill district. In the neighboring district of Gießen lies the Langgöns district of Cleeberg, 3.5 km southeast of the summit . The summit is about 50 m south of the district boundary in the area belonging to Griedelbach.

The Sauergrundbach rises on the south-eastern slope of the mountain and the Ebergrundbach to the south, both of which flow to the Ackergrundbach and are part of the Kleebach catchment area . To the south lies the source of the Solmsbach tributary Mühlbach and to the west-southwest that of the Eulsbach, which feeds the Solmsbach tributary Quembach , which rises on the northwest slope of the mountain . To the north is the source of the Lahn tributary Wetzbach .

The settlement Am Rauenhain is located on the southwest slope of the wooded mountain . To extend to its southern slope parts of 38.28  ha large Fauna Flora Habitat type region Ackergrundbachtal north Cleeberg (FFH no. 5517-303).

Natural allocation

The Köhlerberg belongs in the natural spatial main unit group Taunus (No. 30) and in the main unit Eastern Hintertaunus (302) to the north-eastern sub-area of ​​the natural area Wetzlarer Hintertaunus (302.0).
