The Königheim area is a protected landscape area (LSG number 1.28.007) designated by ordinance of April 6, 1981 in the area of the Baden-Württemberg municipality of Königheim in the Main-Tauber district in Germany .
history
On April 6, 1981, the Königheim landscape protection area was designated as a lower nature conservation authority by ordinance of the District Office of the Main-Tauber district. Due to the designation of new nature and landscape protection areas, the area decreased several times between 1990 and 2006:
- By ordinance of July 9, 1990 ( Haigergrund nature reserve ), the area was reduced by 59 ha.
- By ordinance of November 6, 1992 ( Adell nature reserve ), the area was reduced by 4 ha.
- By ordinance of February 4, 1994 (change of the "Königheim" protected landscape area) the area increased by 46 hectares.
- By ordinance of January 10, 2006 (amendment of the ordinance on the "Königheim" landscape protection area).
location
The approximately 773 hectare nature reserve Königheim belongs to Brehmbachtal . It is characterized by valleys and only extensively or not at all cultivated slopes. In addition, it offers retreats for the flora and fauna.

Protection purpose
“The main protection purpose is the preservation of the typical landscape character of the protected areas, in particular the preservation of the valleys and the protection of the extensively or no longer cultivated slopes from influences alien to the landscape, especially afforestation with alien coniferous trees. Furthermore, ecologically very valuable extensive or no longer cultivated areas that serve as retreats for the animal and plant world should be preserved in their existing naturalness. "
