Haigergrund is a nature reserve in Königheim in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

By regulation of the regional council of Stuttgart on the nature reserve Haigergrund of October 18, 1994, a reserve of 59.4 hectares was designated.

"Protection purpose is:

the safeguarding and preservation of an area that is unique from a floristic and vegetation perspective as well as from a faunistic point of view, a landscape-defining slope of the Tauber Franconian Muschelkalkplatte with an oak-hornbeam forest and open country communities with small-scale interlocking of dry grassland, rock band communities, warmth-loving fringing meadows, semi-arid grasslands Share of rare field herbs, hedges and bushes,
the safeguarding and preservation of various ages, ecologically valuable and scientifically interesting succession stages of these sub-habitats, some of which are due to abandonment of use,
the improvement of the habitats of numerous partly endangered and protected plant and animal species in arid sites by restoring coherent open areas ”( LUBW ).

It is a dry south-west slope with rare flora and fauna.
