Wildentierbacher Berg is a nature reserve in Niederstetten in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

By ordinance of the Stuttgart regional council on the Wildentierbacher Berg nature reserve of October 24, 2005, a 37.5 hectare reserve was designated.

Protection purpose

"Protection purpose is:

• the preservation and development of the stone bar landscape typical of the Tauberland. The old cultural landscape, which has arisen from the historical use of viticulture, is characterized by a diverse complex of living spaces consisting of grasslands, smooth oat meadows, orchards, stone bars, field hedges, field trees and bushes.
• the protection and promotion of species-rich flora and fauna. In this context, the preservation and further development of poor grassland and smooth oat meadows in a variety of species and flowers by ensuring extensive use and care are of great importance.
• the preservation of the stone bars as unique evidence of usage and cultural history and as valuable dry and hot special locations for a special flora and fauna in their current largely open state. They are the defining type of biotope in the nature reserve.

The protection purpose is also the preservation and development of the habitats occurring in the area (in particular 'Trespen-Schwingel-Kalk-Trockenrasen' and 'Extensive hay meadows of the planar to submontane level') of the Habitats Directive ”( LUBW ).
