Outer Ried is a nature reserve in the Boxberg district of Wölchingen in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg .

history

By regulation of the regional council of Stuttgart on the nature reserve Äußeres Ried of September 12, 1985, a reserve of 22.5 hectares was designated.

Protection purpose

"The protection purpose is the preservation and undisturbed further development of a supra-regionally significant wetland with the adjacent natural forest and the agriculturally used areas for the preservation of habitats and communities of rare animal and plant species" ( LUBW ).

Flora and fauna

It is a supraregional significant anthropogenic wetland with near-natural forest and agricultural areas mainly used as grassland as a habitat for rare plant and animal species.
