In 1896 the master blacksmith Emil Köppl (1865–1934) took over the village smithy by marriage in the then still independent village of Entschenreuth, which is now part of Saldenburg. The company dealt with conventional blacksmithing for rural businesses in the region and was sold by Emil Köppl to his son Karl Köppl senior in 1933. In the post-war period , the production of power tools was resumed, and from 1948 motor mowers and tractors from our own production were sold directly . After the early death of Karl Köppl sen. in 1959 the business was initially continued by his widow, his son Karl Köppl jun. The company developed into a motor device factory and from 1980 to 2010 expanded the production of its own motor and attachments; This was accompanied by commercial sales through authorized dealers in addition to the direct sales practiced to this day . As a specialist in agricultural equipment, the company now has numerous patents . The range currently comprises ten single-axle motorized implement series and a ride-on tractor series. In addition to the basic units, Köppl also manufactures around forty attachments for specialized purposes. In 2009, a total of around 4,000 power tools were manufactured and sold, some to Europe and other countries such as India, Mexico and the Philippines.

The company, which employs around 80 people (as of February 2011) , invested around 1.5 million euros in buildings and technology in 2010/2011 to modernize and rationalize production methods, including the purchase of a 5-axis lathe and a welding robot and a balancing machine .
