The KBV-031 class is a series of four multi-purpose vessels of the Swedish Coast Guard ( Swedish Kustbevakningen ).
Construction and delivery
The newbuildings were commissioned on July 16, 2008 from the Peene shipyard in Wolgast . The keel-laying of the type ship on 19 May 2010 and it ran 14 March 2011 from the stack . The first two ships, KBV 031 and KBV 032 , were handed over to the Swedish Coast Guard in mid-2012.
In August 2012, the Peene shipyard had to file for bankruptcy. As part of the insolvency proceedings, the completion of the remaining ships was successfully renegotiated in November 2012. KBV 033 and KBV 034 could then be delivered in spring 2013.
Range of use
The range of uses of these multi-purpose ships ( Swedish Kombinationsfartyg ) includes shipping police tasks , border protection , customs service and fisheries protection . In addition, the ship class is equipped for maritime fire fighting , search and rescue , salvage and oil fighting .
Furnishing
The ice-reinforced hulls are made of steel and the superstructures are made of aluminum. Powered ships from four MTU - Diesel engines of the type 16V 2000 M60, each with 800 kW on two controllable pitch propellers act. At a cruising speed of 12 knots , the action radius is 2,500 nm , with a maximum of 15.5 knots. The ice class 1B allows for a continuous drive by 3.5 kn by 40 cm thick ice.
Additional equipment includes a fire monitor , towing gear with a bollard pull of 15 tbp, two oil skimmers with a capacity of 255 m³, two folding cranes , two dinghies and dynamic positioning .
There are eight cabins available, which can be used twice if necessary. The normal ship's crew consists of seven people.
