Cabinet Törngren

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Törngren Cabinet was the 38th government cabinet in Finnish history . It was in office from May 5, 1954 to October 20, 1954 (169 days).

After the parliamentary elections in March 1954 , the Landbund under Urho Kekkonen and the Social Democratic Party agreed for the first time since an economic crisis, the solution of which had divided the two most powerful parties. However, with the previous Foreign Minister Ralf Törngren, a member of the Swedish People's Party was elected Prime Minister. In October the Landbund and the Social Democrats finally formed a government led by Kekkonen and without the Swedish People's Party, which remained in office until Kekkonen was elected president in 1956.
