Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen

The Katainen Cabinet was the 72nd government cabinet in Finnish history . It was sworn in on June 22, 2011 and was in office until June 24, 2014.

In the parliamentary elections on March 18, 2011 , Jyrki Katainen and his conservative rallying party emerged as the winners. Katainen formed a six-party coalition made up of the rallying party, Social Democrats, Left Alliance, Greens, the Swedish People's Party and Christian Democrats. Two members of the left-wing alliance left the coalition in 2011 and from then on formed their own parliamentary group. The remaining twelve left left the coalition in March 2014, as did the two ministers of the left, Paavo Arhinmäki and Merja Kyllönen, resigned. On April 5, 2014, Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen announced his resignation for June 2014, around ten months before the end of his term of office. Katainen's successor was Alexander Stubb on June 24, 2014 .
