history

Hotel Kaisermühle

The watermill already existed in 1275. The name Kaisermühl , however, leads back to " Gore Keyser on the Bretmühle zu Melrase " in 1495. In the 16th century a copper hammer was built, which was abandoned after a short time. The watermill still existed, however, today's Hotel Kaisermühle corresponds in its architecture and design to the appearance of the mill from 1680. Around 1720 Büdner were settled among the six inhabitants from 1707 . In 1745 the mill was equipped with two grinding and one cutting aisles. There were now 13 Büdner and four years later the population had grown twenty-fold. In 1801 the colonist house was mentioned, there was a forester's house and a jug . Due to the favorable location on the canal, some craftsmen and boatmen settled . In 1854 the mill only had one grinding and one cutting gear.

The mill, estate, and site were 310 acres and 90 square rods in size . At that time they were subordinate to the Biegen office . A brick factory has also belonged to the place since 1864 . The number of inhabitants grew rapidly, in 1931 37 houses with 49 households were recorded.

In August 1945 there were initial efforts to incorporate the small town. The resistance of the residents was such that the idea was abandoned in 1949. When the local politics department of the state association of the SED Brandenburg determined that the unpleasant name Kaisermühl still existed, the local administration was asked to rename itself Neu-Mühle . This left the letter unanswered and so the renaming "fizzled out". At that time there were around 320 inhabitants in Kaisermühl, in 2006 there were only 57. In addition to Ernstwinkel in 1950, Kaisermühl also included the residential areas Am Bahnhof and Am Kanal . The incorporation finally took place in 1962. The expropriations also hit the Kaisermühler in 1946, of the almost 170 hectares of land, fields , meadows, but above all forest, only 26 hectares went to two resettlers and two hectares to an old owner, the rest was assigned to the surrounding communities.

There is a cemetery in the village.

Up to June 30, 1993 the postcode was O 1203, since July 1, 1993 it is 15299.
