Kalinino ( Russian Кали́нино ) is a village (selo) in the Republic of Khakassia ( Russia ) with 3718 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010).
geography
The place is about 5 km as the crow flies northwest of the republic capital Abakan , in the direction of the neighboring city of Chernogorsk . It is located on the left bank of the Yenisei , below the mouth of the Abakan .
Kalinino belongs to Rajon Ust-Abakanski and from its administrative headquarters also lying on the Yenisei Ust-Abakan good 5 km to the south. It is the seat of the rural community Kalininskoje selskoje posselenije, to which, in addition to the village of Kalinino, the village of Chapayevo, located southwest of Abakan, belongs.
history
The village was founded in the 1920s as a settlement of the agricultural commune Agrokultura . It was later named after the politician Michail Kalinin (1875–1946, from 1919 until his death the formal head of state of Soviet Russia and the Soviet Union ).

Kalinino is located on the M54 highway , which connects Krasnoyarsk via Abakan with the Tuvinian capital Kyzyl and the Mongolian border. The nearest train station is in Abakan on the Novokuznetsk - Tayshet South Siberian Railway . Abakan Airport is located immediately southwest of the village .
