Rue du Maroc in Kalley Center (2018)

Kalley Center is located in downtown Niamey and is part of the Kalley district . The neighboring districts are Maourey in the northwest across the Rue de Kalley, Banizoumbou , Lacouroussou , Kalley Est and Kalley Sud in the northeast across the Boulevard de la Liberté and Terminus in the southwest across the Avenue de l'Afrique. To the southeast of Kalley Center are barracks of the Nigerien armed forces . The district is located in a plateau with a layer of sand less than 2.5 meters deep, which means that only limited infiltration is possible.

The standard scheme for street names in Kalley Center is Rue ST 1 , where the French rue for street is followed by the abbreviation ST for the stadium area of the Stade municipal de Niamey located in the district and finally a number. This goes back to a project to name streets in Niamey in 2002, in which the city was divided into 44 zones, each with its own letter abbreviations.
