Kamaria Durant (born February 24, 1991 ) is a track and field athlete from Trinidad and Tobago who specializes in sprinting .
Athletic career
Kamaria Durant gained her first international experience in 2013 at the Central America and Caribbean Championships (CAC) in Morelia , where she won the silver medal in the Trinidadian-Tobagian 4 x 100 meter relay in 43.67 seconds. In addition, she received a starting place in the relay for the World Championships in Moscow , where she was eliminated with 43.01 s in the lead. At the 2014 IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas, she finished third behind the United States and Jamaica with the 4-by-100-meter relay in 42.66 s, and with the 4-by-200-meter relay she did not finish in the final. She then took part in the 100-meter run at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and was eliminated there with 11.70 s in the semi-finals. In addition, she reached eighth place with the relay in 44.78 s. At the IAAF World Relays 2015 , she reached fifth place in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 42.88 s and at the Pan American Games in Toronto she reached the semifinals in the 200 meter run , in which she eliminated with 22.94 s. In addition, she did not reach the finish with the relay in the lead. At the subsequent NACAC Championships in San José , she was seventh over 200 meters in 23.15 s and won the bronze medal behind the United States and Puerto Rico in 44.24 s with the relay. So she qualified over 200 meters for the World Championships in Beijing , where she was eliminated with 23.25 s in the first round .
At the IAAF World Relays 2017 she came fourth with the 4 x 200 meter relay in 1: 32.63 min and in 2018 she reached the semifinals over 200 meters at the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast , in which she was eliminated with 23.83 s. At the IAAF World Relays 2019 in Yokohama she was eliminated from the preliminary round with the 4 x 100 meter relay with 43.67 s and at the Pan American Games in Lima she finished fourth with the relay in 43.57 s. At the beginning of October, she reached the semi-finals over 200 meters at the World Championships in Doha , where she was eliminated with 23.44 s, while she came in sixth with the relay in 42.71 s.
In 2019 Durant became the Trinidadian-Tobagian champion in the 200-meter run.
