Karl-Heinz Henke (born January 24, 1949 ) is a former German soccer player . The defensive player played five games in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund in the 1971/72 season .

Career

The twenty-two-year-old Henke moved in 1971 from VfB 03 Bielefeld from the amateur division of Verbandsliga Westfalen, Group 1 (Northeast) to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund . At Borussia, there was a drastic upheaval in the players' squad for financial reasons. With Horst Trimhold , Ferdinand Heidkamp , Wolfgang Paul , Klaus Brakelmann , Wilhelm Sturm , Sigfried Held , Willi Neuberger , Werner Weist and Reinhold Wosab , BVB lost long-standing top performers and promising talents in the summer of 1971. The squad of coach Horst Witzler was mainly refreshed by additions from the amateur area and the regional league. In addition to Henke, there were also Siegfried Köstler (1. FC Paderborn), Werner Lorant (SV Welver), Reinhold Mathes (Sportfreunde Siegen), Wolfgang Przygoda (VfB Lünen), Alfons Sikora (VfB Altena), Jürgen Wilhelm (SV Oberlahnstein), Horst Bertram (Kickers Offenbach), Walter Hohnhausen (Rot-Weiss Essen), Friedel Mensink (TuS Bremerhaven) and Dieter Mietz from SG Wattenscheid 09 to the team of game committee chairman Helmut Bracht and the 1st chairman Walter Kliemt. The 1.76 m tall and 72 kg heavy Henke made his debut on the eighth match day, September 25, 1971, in a 1: 2 away defeat at Hertha BSC in the Bundesliga. The BVB defense started with goalkeeper Jürgen Rynio , the defense with Gerd Peehs, Dieter Mietz, Branko Rasovic and Henke, as well as the defensive players in midfield such as Mathes, Lorant and Mensink. Against the Hertha offensive with Hans-Jürgen Sperlich , Lorenz Horr , Arno Steffenhagen , Erich Beer and Wolfgang Gayer , Henke and colleagues defended a 1-1 draw for a long time before Horr scored the winning goal in the 88th minute. However, Henke did not get past players like Branko Rašović , Dieter Mietz, Gerd Peehs and Hans-Joachim Andree over the course of the 1971/72 season , so that he only played five games. The change of coach to Herbert Burdenski on January 3, 1972 , did not prevent BVB's relegation in the summer of 1972.

After the season, Henke moved to DJK Gütersloh .
