Friedel Mensink (born August 30, 1949 - August 4, 1997 ) was a German football player . In the 1971/72 season, the midfielder and defensive player played twelve games in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund .

career

For the 1969/70 season, the former Westphalian amateur footballer from SpVgg Rheine signed a contract with Bremerhaven 93 in the Regionalliga Nord . He made his debut on August 24, 1969 in a 3-0 home win against Itzehoer SV in what was then the second division of the Regionalliga Nord. Bremerhaven finished sixth at the end of the round and the man from Rheine had scored a goal in 25 missions alongside teammates Horst Bertl , Willi Reimann and Gerhard Zebrowski . In his second season, 1970/71, Mensink increased his stakes with the Weinroten from the port city to 32 games (1 goal) and the team from Zollinland Stadium reached eighth place. After 57 regional league games with two goals from 1969 to 1971 for Bremerhaven 93, he accepted Borussia Dortmund's offer for the 1971/72 season and switched to the “black and yellow” team at the Rote Erde stadium to prove himself in the Bundesliga.
