Karl Engelhardt (pastor)

Karl Wilhelm Engelhardt (born July 19, 1874 in Hoffenheim ; † March 31, 1942 ) was a German homeland researcher in Kraichgau and a Protestant pastor . He was involved in church and sociopolitical issues and published several non-fiction books, writings and lectures.

Life

Karl Engelhardt was born as the son of the farmer Balthasar Engelhardt in Hoffenheim, Sinsheim district office . He attended elementary school in Hoffenheim and then the community school in Sinsheim . He switched to the Realgymnasium in Mannheim , where he passed the school leaving examination in 1893 . Since this school- leaving certificate did not entitle him to study theology , he had to take a supplementary examination at the Wertheim grammar school in 1894 . From 1894 to 1898 he studied at the universities of Heidelberg , Strasbourg and Berlin .

Since autumn 1898 he was employed as a vicar and then as a pastor at the Baden regional church . From 1903 to January 3, 1910 he was pastor in Ittlingen . From 1910 to 1928 he worked as a pastor in Cologne-Lindenthal , from 1928 to 1935 in Mannheim.
