Karl Krebs (born January 30, 1880 in Freiburg im Breisgau ; † August 28, 1914 near Waplitz , East Prussia ) was a German painter and graphic artist.

Karl Krebs was the son of the banker Eugen Krebs (1848–1912) from the JA Krebs bank in Freiburg. He studied architecture in Karlsruhe with Carl Schäfer and then worked as a government architect in Freiburg, Heidelberg and Baden-Baden . With Waldemar Rösler in Berlin he devoted himself to painting, became an assistant at the arts and crafts school in Berlin and painted in small clocks in East Prussia on the Baltic Sea in the summer months .

He exhibited at the Munich Secession exhibitions in the winter of 1913/14 and in the spring of 1914, as well as at the first exhibition of the Free Secession in Berlin in 1914. His painting style developed from Impressionism to Expressionism . He created oil paintings, lithographs and etchings .

He fell in the battle of Waplitz during the battle of Tannenberg . After his death, an exhibition with 93 of his works took place at the Kunstverein Freiburg .
