Karl Schlemmer

Karl Schlemmer (born January 16, 1937 in Nuremberg ; † September 24, 2013 ibid) was a German Roman Catholic theologian and professor of liturgical studies and pastoral theology .

Life

After graduating from high school at the Humanistic Gymnasium of the Benedictine Abbey of Metten, Schlemmer studied Catholic theology at the Philosophical-Theological College, today's Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg , where in 1958 he became a member of the KDSt.V. Fredericia Bamberg in CV . Schlemmer was ordained a priest in 1963 . At first he worked as a priest in pastoral care for several years. From 1971, he was Assistant Professor of Liturgical Studies at the University of Würzburg , where he in 1977 with a thesis on the Frankish church and Reformation History at Georg Lang gardeners to Dr. theol. received his doctorate .

From 2002 to 2004 he was a substitute professor for pastoral theology and homiletics at the Chur Theological University in Chur . He was also active as President of the Kolping Family in his place of residence in Nuremberg.

Karl Schlemmer was appointed to the Theological Commission of the Swiss Bishops' Conference in 2003. In 2005 he was a participant in the Synod of the Roman Catholic Church of the Canton of Basel-Stadt (RKK) in which a position was developed in the Vision 2015 process .

For many years he was editor of the scoreboard for pastoral care . In 2000 he became a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in Vienna and of the Society for the Promotion of Augustine Research in Würzburg.
