Until 1933 he played in the championships organized by the North German Football Association in the regional top division under changing names. From the Kreisliga Nordkreis he emerged victorious at the end of the 1921/22 season and finished the finals for the North German Championship in second behind Hamburger SV . The 1928/29 season was played with the preceding football revolution in the more competitive round of ten , of which the first sixth-placed teams played for the North German championship; from the 1929/30 season in six districts in six “top leagues” each . With the North German championship won in 1926 and 1927, he took part with the team in the subsequent final round of the German championship and scored five goals in five games. His greatest success with the team was the runner-up in 1930, although he was not used in the finals.
The last two seasons he played in the Gauliga Nordmark , in one of initially 16, later increased to 23 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as a unified top division in the German Empire and completed this with his club as third-placed.
