Karl Zallinger (politician)

Karl Zallinger (born July 18, 1961 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). Since June 2018 he has been a member of the Salzburg State Parliament .

Life

After primary school in Salzburg- Lehen and Gnigl, Karl Zallinger attended the secondary school in Salzburg-Schloßstraße and from 1974 the private high school Borromäum , where he graduated in 1980 . After military service , he began studying theology and independent religious education at the University of Salzburg in 1982, completing his master's degree in 1991.

From 1990 to 1992 taught at the secondary school and at the polytechnic in Oberndorf . Then he was head of the Diocesan Youth Office of the Archdiocese of Salzburg . In 1994 he began studying at the Social Academy, which he finished in 1998 as a qualified social worker (DSA). He also completed a psychotherapeutic propaedeutic course . Parallel to this training he was a pastoral assistant in the parish of Salzburg-Itzling . From 1998 to 2006 he was the home manager and educational director. Since 2007 he has been managing director of the Kolping House Salzburg.

politics

Karl Zallinger was ÖVP district chairman in Salzburg-Itzling from 2010 to 2014 . From October 2014 he was regional representative of the Salzburg regional organization of the Austrian workers' union (ÖAAB). In 2017 he became district chairman of the ÖAAB Salzburg-Stadt. On June 14, 2018, he was elected chairman of Salzburg at an extraordinary state parliament of the ÖAAB. He succeeded Daniela Gutschi in this role .

After the state elections in Salzburg in 2018 , he was sworn in as a member of the Salzburg state parliament on June 13, 2018 in the constitutive session of the 16th legislative period .
