Karoj Sindi (born August 21, 1989 in Zaxo ) is an Iraqi - Kurdish football player who also has German citizenship. As a midfielder, he is primarily used as a right or left winger and can also act as a full-back in an emergency .

Career

In the club

Sindi's senior career began with the second division of the third division Wuppertaler SV in summer 2008. There he recommended himself with good performances for the first team and came on April 30, 2010, the 37th matchday of the 2009/10 season , in the home game against FC Carl Zeiss Jena (1: 1) in the 3rd division when he was surprisingly in the starting line-up. However, the team was relegated from the 3rd division and the club no longer planned with Sindi.

For the 2010/11 season Sindi moved to the NRW division and promoted VfB Homberg . However, at the beginning of the season he was only used five times as a joker and could not score a goal for VfB. Therefore, the contract was terminated on November 1, 2010 after just four months. After he did not find a new club in the 2010/11 season, he was committed to the 2011/12 season by the second team of the Dutch first division club VVV-Venlo , the Jong VVV-Venlo .

For the 2012/13 season Sindi moved to the German fourth division club Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , where he made 20 regional league appearances under coach Mario Basler . After a coach change, he was relegated to the reserve under successor Peter Kunkel and at the end of the season did not receive a new contract with the "clover leaves". In February 2014 Sindi went back to Iraq for six months to the Duhok Sports Club - a top Kurdish club that played in the Iraqi upper house. In July 2014, the NRW upper division club 1. FC Bocholt signed him . At the end of January 2015, his contract in Bocholt was dissolved and Sindi joined league rivals Wuppertaler SV for the second half of the season, for whom he had already played until 2010. In the summer he left the WSV again and was initially without a club. In September 2015 he was signed by the newly promoted regional league TuS Erndtebrück . This commitment was also resolved again during the winter break. In January 2016, the upper division Ratingen 04/19 announced the commitment to Sindis. Six months later it was over again. Sindi left Germany for Laos , where he played for the Lao National University soccer team , NUOL FC , in the Lao Premier League 2016 . In the summer of 2018, he returned to Germany and joined TV Herkenrath , which had just been promoted to the regional league. During the winter break he left the club and moved to the upper division FSV Duisburg , where he stayed until the end of the season. After half a year without a club, Sindi's return to Wuppertaler SV, now playing in the regional league, was announced at the end of January 2020 .

National team

Sindi played for the U-19s and U-20s of the Iraqi Football Association .
