Karola Ebeling (born May 23, 1935 in Berlin ) is a German actress and singer .

Life

Karola Ebeling grew up in Berlin and went to school there, graduating from a business school. Then she attended the Max Reinhardt Drama School under the direction of Hilde Körber . She had vocal training with Elsa Varena in Berlin, Sergio Nazor in Wuppertal and with Professor Gottschalk in Berlin.

During her apprenticeship she played a number of roles in the Schiller and Schloßparktheater in Berlin. Her partner was Horst Buchholz in the Berlin posse Kyritz-Pyritz , directed by Wolfgang Spier . After completing his acting training, engagements in the theaters of Wuppertal, Lübeck, Hildesheim and Hanover followed. From 1958 Karola Ebeling spent three seasons at the Deutsches Theater in the eastern part of Berlin. There she played u. a. in Nathan the Wise the role of Recha with Eduard von Winterstein . In 1959 she played Luise in Kabale und Liebe , a Defa film adaptation directed by Martin Hellberg . During this time with the Deutsches Theater on the Adlershof TV station, she had around 20 television roles that were still broadcast live, including Franziska in Minna von Barnhelm . At this time she was also a member of the West Berlin cabaret Die Bedienten and seen in fairy tale pieces with Fritz Genschow in the Titania Palace. Due to a criticism in the newspaper Die Welt , she was engaged by Gustaf Gründgens at the German theater in Hamburg .

The construction of the Wall in 1961 marked the end of Karola Ebeling's engagement at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin. Fortunately, she was engaged for the German premiere of the musical My Fair Lady (October 25, 1961) at the Theater des Westens Berlin for the second cast of Eliza, alongside Karin Hübner . While waiting for the first performance, she played Louka in the comedy Berlin in Helden von Shaw with Heidelinde Weis , Hans Putz , Jan Hendriks , Tilly Lauenstein and others. a. Then Karola Ebeling played the role of Eliza in My Fair Lady in around 1000 performances in Berlin, Munich, Zurich, Vienna, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Luxembourg and on tours.
