history

The Angerdorf was first mentioned as Karwese in 1294 . Originally it belonged to the diocese of Havelberg . As a result of the Reformation, the village was incorporated into the Brandenburg Office of Bellin in 1571 .

In the 19th century, with the beginning of the railway age , Karwesee was connected to Fehrbellin and Paulinenaue .

In 1945 the manor building was demolished in order to extract building material from it.

The state of Brandenburg , which was re-established in 1990, designated the villages of Betzin, Karwesee, Lentzke and Protzen as program villages for village renewal in 2000 .

Former Betzin-Karwesee train station

In the course of this work, the railway line was shut down, on the route of which a regional cycle path, called Stille Pauline , was opened on June 22, 2011 .

On October 26, 2003, the Brandenburg municipal reform led to the incorporation of Karwesee into the municipality of Fehrbellin.

Attractions

Village church

The church, built in 1756, is a listed half-timbered building . The church tower , damaged in World War II , was restored in 1949/1950. For the time being there was no money for further renovation work, so that the church had to be closed by the building authorities in 1974. After the fall of the Wall , the church building could be renovated and since 1995 it has been used for worship again . Like the Engel tomb in the cemetery, the church is one of the architectural monuments in Fehrbellin .
