Tour of Qatar 2009

The eighth Tour of Qatar (Tour of Qatar) is a cycling stage race . It took place for the men from February 1st to 6th. In addition, a race for women was also held for the first time. This was held from February 8th to 10th.

Men's race

The bike race was held in six stages over a distance of 566.5 kilometers.

The tour of Qatar is part of the UCI Asia Tour 2008 and is classified in category 2.1. The bike race was held in six stages over a distance of 566.5 kilometers. It began with a team time trial in the capital Doha , in the periphery of which the tour was largely held. The route did not present any topographical difficulties, so sprinters dominated the tour.

During this tour the Belgian driver Frederiek Nolf was killed. After the 4th stage he was found dead in his hotel room.
