Kathrin Clara Jantke , actually Kathrin Jantke (born September 8, 1977 in Altdöbern ), is a German singer and singer-songwriter . The stage name Clara is derived from the name of her grandmother Klara Jantke.
Life
Kathrin Clara Jantke grew up in Vetschau / Spreewald . From 1983 to 1990 she attended the 2nd Polytechnic High School in Vetschau and from 1990 to 1993 the Lower Sorbian Gymnasium Cottbus . In 1994 she moved to the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium in Vetschau, where she graduated from high school in 1997.
In 2012 she got to know the photo artist and filmmaker Walter Schönenbröcher , with whom she set up a photo studio in Cottbus and works as a photographer in addition to music . They have been married since September 2016. In 2017 Jantke's blog www.clara-haben.de went online, in which she documents her path as a musician and as a person. She works actively with the travel magazine Urlaubreich and publishes articles from her blog as “Clara aktiv”. She performs with concerts and releases singer-songwriter - workshops for young musicians.

She learned piano for eleven years at the Cottbus Conservatory , and classical singing and modern singing for five years . At the age of 17 she began to write her own songs and sang in a cover band for ten years . From 1997 to 2005 she worked as a music teacher for early musical education , as a presenter for shop24direct and as a freelance editor and presenter for a regional broadcaster and participated in recording studio work and commercial productions .
In 2000, she and her then singing partner Danny Heims (now a cycling fan) won the casting show "Voice 2000" under the patron and presenter Peter Sebastian , in which Yvonne Catterfeld and Mike Kraus also appear as finalists. As a duo "There for you", Radfan and Jantke took second place at the "International Pop Trophy 2001/2002" in Aachen.
In 2005 Jantke toured as a singer on a cruise ship and in 2006 completed an internship at Rhein-Neckar Fernsehen in Mannheim and worked as a promoter at virtual Nights. Since 2007 she has been traveling all over Germany as an entertainer with various solo programs in the areas of evergreens , cabaret , revue and lounge music . She has appeared in supporting programs for well-known artists such as Roland Kaiser , Helene Fischer , Matthias Reim , Münchner Freiheit , Olaf Berger and Brunner & Brunner .
In 2008, she released her first own album, “Irgendwann BEGs Now”, followed by a Christmas album including an image song for a candle company in 2009. Three in-house singles followed.
She appears in various television productions such as "Heut steppt der Adler" on RBB , Silvester-Gala and Berlin currently on FAB, "RNF Life" RTL-Regional Rhein-Neckar Fernsehen Mannheim with her own and covered songs. In 2010/11 she worked on her own revue “Merci Kathrin” with premieres in the Schatzkistl in Mannheim and in the Theater Partout in Lübeck, and during this time she worked with the choreographer Regina Weber.
Since 2015 Jantke has been concentrating on her career as a singer-songwriter "Clara".
In 2018 Kathrin Clara Jantke released a benefit single for the first Brandenburg children's hospice "Pusteblume" by Johanniter, their record label "Clara sound". In 2019 her album "Jetzt" was released with her own German pop songs.
In 2019 Kathrin Clara Jantke composed her song "Meine Politik". When the music producer of the RTL television program Let's Dance , Dieter Kirchenbauer, heard the composition, he took over the production of the song and the music video in 2020. The music video of the song "Mit Dir", also made in 2020, this time under the direction of her husband Walter Schönenbröcher , achieved international awards at film festivals.
