Kazim Akboga

Kazim Akboga (born August 20, 1982 in Schweinfurt as Kazım Akboğa ; † February 9, 2017 in Falkensee ) was a German singer , songwriter , composer , DJ , web video producer and copywriter of Turkish descent. He became famous in 2015 with his song Is not matter to me , as well as through its participation in the music - casting show Germany Idol .

life and career

Akboga grew up as the son of Turkish immigrants in Schweinfurt . For seven years he ran a kebab shop with his parents . He then completed training as a foreign language correspondent for English and Spanish. The first poems and texts were written at the same time. For several years he worked as a copywriter in Hamburg . In 2013 he moved to Berlin-Neukölln , where he worked briefly in an advertising agency and then concentrated on his music, which he published on YouTube .

In 2014 he released his album Albüm I don't care , which also contained the piece I don't care . With this Akboga appeared in February 2015 on the 12th season of the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar . Although he could not achieve the recall on the show with his appearance, he became known to a wider audience, which led to the song spreading virally on the Internet.

In December 2015, the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe used a modification of the piece of music for an advertising clip in which Akboga appeared as a ticket inspector and bus driver. This campaign was a resounding success: within the first six hours, 640,000 people viewed the video on the BVG Facebook page, the video went viral around the world and soon reached over 10 million views. He also had the cult saying “I don't care” tattooed on his upper arm.

In 2016 Akboga was again at Deutschland sucht den Superstar with its title Kebab get up and could not convince the jury here either. Akboga starred in a supporting role in Felix Charin's 2016 feature film Therapy . In an episode of the series The Wedding Comes , he appeared again in the role of a controller in 2017. Other pieces of music appeared later. Akboga performed live with the mood singer Willi Herren and the rapper Serc.

In February 2017 Akboga committed at the age of 34 years suicide . According to his family, the singer has been in psychological treatment for a long time.

In March 2017, Ullstein Verlag published his book Zebra is black and white - and still happy .
