Kemer is a district and a county seat in the Turkish province of Burdur . The city is centrally located in the district, about 45 km southwest of the provincial capital on the western slope of the Katrancık Dağı Mountains on a tributary of the Evren Çayı, which flows into the Burdur Gölü about 35 km north .

The district is located in the southern center of the province. It borders on the Tefenni and Karamanlı counties in the west, the central Burdur county in the north, the Bucak county in the east and the Antalya province ( Korkuteli county ) in the south .
The district was formed on July 4, 1987 by splitting off from the (now north) central district of Burdur. The district has the lowest population density in the province. In addition to the district town, it consists of seven villages ( Köy ) with an average of 242 residents (the lowest average in the province). Belenli with 442 inhabitants is the largest village.
